ODM & OEM: How to Launch Your Own Beauty Device Brand
Private-labeling a beauty device is more accessible than most distributors think. A step-by-step look at what customization a factory can do for you, from logo to packaging.
ODM or OEM: what's the difference?
In ODM (original design manufacturer) you take the factory's existing machine and make it yours: your logo, your color, your packaging, your manual. In OEM (original equipment manufacturer) you ask the factory to build a new design to your specification, which takes longer and usually requires a higher order volume.
For most distributors, chain salons and new brands, ODM is the realistic first step: you get a proven, QC-tested machine with your brand on it, without carrying the risk of a new product design.
What can be customized
On our production line we can adjust: logo printing or laser engraving on the main unit, body color and front-panel layout, outer packaging and gift-box design, user manual language and content, air-bag count and layout within the existing platform, and the power plug and voltage for each target market.
Each customization point has a different effect on lead time and minimum order quantity. Printing a logo on a white front panel is a small change; changing the color of the main housing is a larger one. The honest way to plan is to ask for the lead time and MOQ per item, not one blanket number.
The typical path to launch
Step 1: define the target market and choose the base model. Step 2: send us your brand assets - logo files, colors, packaging references - and we produce a design mockup for your approval. Step 3: a sample is built and shipped so you can test it with your own clients. Step 4: after sample approval, mass production begins, with QC reports and photos before shipment.
From approved mockup to sample, lead time depends on the scope of changes - we will quote it with you after reviewing your assets. From sample approval to mass production, standard models are the fastest. We will walk you through every checkpoint so there are no surprises at shipment.
